I-80 · SELECTED CORRIDORS
I-80 trip weather — the segments we actually cover.
Compare arrival-time weather on 6 curated I-80 corridors, then check the official road sources for every state on your drive.
Donner Summit
Sacramento to Reno
From the Sacramento Valley to the Sierra crest and into Nevada, a single trip can cross very different weather. Check the summit forecast at your estimated arrival, then confirm current restrictions on the California and Nevada sides.
Wind-exposed Wyoming
Cheyenne to Salt Lake City
Across southern Wyoming, check wind as carefully as precipitation. This selected I-80 corridor includes exposed high-country checkpoints and the Utah approach; it is not a complete I-80 national report.
Midwest to Colorado
Chicago to Denver
This selected corridor follows I-80 across the Midwest and Nebraska, then I-76 into Colorado. It does not go through Cheyenne or Wyoming. Six forecast checkpoints provide a broad planning view, not continuous coverage across this long drive.
Northern Nevada I-80
Reno to Salt Lake City
This long I-80 crossing runs through exposed northern Nevada before reaching the salt flats and Salt Lake City. Wind and winter weather can affect remote sections far from either endpoint, so the intermediate checkpoints matter.
Nebraska Plains to Colorado
Omaha to Denver
This long westbound corridor follows I-80 across Nebraska and then I-76 toward Denver. Long open stretches make intermediate wind, winter weather and visibility checks more useful than relying on Omaha and Denver alone.
Iowa to Chicago I-80
Des Moines to Chicago
The I-80 run east from Des Moines crosses Iowa and northern Illinois before the Chicago approach. Wind, thunderstorms, fog and winter weather can change along the route while metro congestion remains outside the planning baseline.
OFFICIAL ROAD SOURCE HANDOFF
Check every state your selected corridor crosses.
These links are official road-information services. A link is not counted as an integrated feed.
A BETTER WAY TO USE THIS PAGE
Pick the actual corridor.
Do not use a whole-Interstate label as a proxy for a city-pair journey.
Pulse or compare departure weather.
Weather is matched to estimated checkpoint arrival, with missing data kept visible.
Finish at the official road source.
Current restrictions, incidents and road access remain separate from the weather category.
QUICK ANSWERS
What this I-80 planner means.
Does this page show all I-80 road conditions?
No. RoadAheadNow currently covers 6 selected I-80 corridors on this page. It does not claim end-to-end I-80 road-status coverage.
Can I see live weather for these I-80 trips?
Yes. Each listed corridor has an on-demand weather pulse and a full four-departure comparison using selected NWS forecast checkpoints. The weather result is not a road-open clearance.
Are closures and pavement conditions included?
Most road-status data remains an official state-authority check. Only pages that explicitly label a bounded Caltrans integration include selected chain-control or camera metadata; links alone are never counted as integrated live feeds.
How should I compare two parts of the same Interstate?
Open the exact corridor page for each trip. Distances and driving durations are planning baselines, not live traffic estimates, and each corridor can cross different state authorities and time zones.
