What you enter

The checker uses a selected public route, travel direction, departure time, vehicle profile and stop allowance. It does not request your name, precise device location or street address. Route and option query parameters can appear in your browser history; your selected route is not a private address.

How requests are processed

Our infrastructure processes ordinary connection information such as IP address and browser headers to deliver the site and protect it. Route-check API responses use no-store caching. Public source responses are cached separately by public checkpoint, not by a user profile.

Browser storage

Saving a report is optional. A report is stored only in this browser when you press Save on this device. The Remove saved report control deletes that local copy. Printing and downloading a report are actions you initiate.

External services

Our server queries NOAA/NWS and, on selected California routes, Caltrans. Opening an official-source link sends you to that provider. Camera images are loaded directly from Caltrans only when you choose to show them, so the provider then receives a normal image request.

Advertising

Eligible public editorial pages may use Google AdSense in supported locations. The private checker, API, legal and error pages do not load ads. Ads are withheld in consent-required regions until the required certified consent setup is verified. See our advertising notice and Google’s partner-site explanation.

Your choices and contact

You can use the checker without saving anything. Remove saved reports through the tool or your browser’s site-storage controls. For privacy questions contact legal@roadaheadnow.com. Required operator details are on the legal notice.

Private trip workspace

Budget assumptions, a local departure setting and checklist choices are calculated in your browser. Save explicitly stores them under roadaheadnow.plan.v1. Loading is explicit, and Delete saved plan removes only that key. Your separately saved weather report uses roadaheadnow.report.v1. Exports are files you control; deleting browser storage does not delete exported files. We do not upload these plan fields through the workspace.

Remembered route setups and calendar files

Saving a route setup stores only its public corridor, direction, vehicle profile, stop allowance and save time under roadaheadnow.route-presets.v1. It does not save your departure time, weather, trip budget or checklist. Up to six setups can be saved; use Remove beside a setup to delete it without changing the other storage keys. A copied setup link contains those route settings but no forecast report. A departure calendar export contains the selected route and departure time; it does not subscribe you to live alerts, and you control any calendar import or deletion.
