ARRIVE BY A SPECIFIC TIME
Choose a curated corridor, enter the local arrival time at your destination and turn that target into an approximate departure — then check the weather on that exact plan.
WHY THIS HELPS
A route forecast is more useful when it is aligned to the hour you expect to reach the mountain pass, city or state-line section — not simply the hour you start planning.
RoadAheadNow uses the same curated route and checkpoint order as the live weather checker. It does not invent an alternate route.
Your target is interpreted in the destination’s local time zone. DST gaps are rejected; repeated hours stay explicit.
The result is a planning departure, not a live ETA. Traffic and road closures are intentionally not fabricated.
The handoff opens the existing four-window checker with the exact calculated departure instant.
No. The planner works backward from the selected corridor’s rounded driving baseline plus the stop allowance you enter. Congestion, crashes, closures and unscheduled stops are not measured or added.
Enter the clock time you want at the destination. The planner uses the destination checkpoint’s IANA time zone and shows the resulting departure in the start location’s time zone.
A local time that does not exist is rejected. If the destination clock repeats an hour in autumn, the planner shows an earlier/later occurrence choice instead of silently guessing.
Yes. The Check departure weather button passes the exact UTC departure instant, direction, vehicle profile and stop allowance into the existing four-window route checker.
No. The result is a timing estimate. Road access, closures and restrictions still require the official state road sources for the corridor.
